Its software helps physicians and health organizations increase their reach and speedup their workflows, so that they can serve more patients more cost-effectively. ClickMedix software is currently in use in over a dozen countries.
Ting Shih, Founder and CEO of ClickMedix said, “Maryland has been a great choice as a launchpad for ClickMedix in our quest to serve a global market and help improve the health of over a billion people. Winning the InvestMaryland Challenge is really a culmination of our hard work and all of the support and resources we’ve gotten along the way from organizations and resources in Maryland. The Maryland Department of Economic Development, BioHealth Innovations, Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship, Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, StartupMaryland, and of course the InvestMaryland Challenge have all been tremendously helpful to ClickMedix.
I’d like to thank Julie Kirk, former Director of the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship and the new Director of the Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the Department of Commerce, and Stewart Gold, our mentor at the Maryland Center for Entrepreneurship (MCE). Their coaching and support at the MCE has been incredible, and their encouragement for us to enter the Startup Maryland Pitch Across Maryland contest last fall was the beginning of the road to our win at the InvestMaryland Challenge. Winning the Pitch Across Maryland in October 2013 not only qualified us for 2014 InvestMaryland Challenge, but also gave us a lot of great feedback to further craft and build our business.
I also have an incredible team of healthcare experts and engineers whose hard work and support has pushed the ClickMedix mission forward. Last but not least, my parents have been a driving force of encouragement towards our mission of improving the healthcare of more than a billion people.”
ClickMedix, who won the IT Hardware/Software grand-prize, was joined by grand-prize winning companies in other sectors: Brain Sentry (Life Sciences), Luminal (Cyber Security), and Healthify (General Industry).
